Our solutions for Atex zones
Our industrial solutions can be designed specifically for zones with potentially explosive atmospheres (ATEX zones).
The European Community has adopted two directives relating to explosive atmospheres, which came into effect on July 1st 2003:
- Directive 1999/92/CE, concerns minimum requirements aimed at improving protection of the health and safety of workers who are likely to be exposed to the risk of explosive atmospheres. This directive must be implemented by a company’s management (users), and requires for example that installations concerned by this risk be classified into zones.
- Directive 94/9/CE concerns equipment and safety systems which are intended to be used in potentially explosive atmospheres. This directive must be implemented by equipment installers and suppliers. It stipulates the requirement for risk analysis and defines the conformity evaluation procedures in accordance with the classification established by the user.
We analyze the type of industrial project, the materials used and the zones which have been defined and draw on our experience to offer you the best technical solution while abiding by ATEX standards.
All our equipment can be adapted to meet your requirements and thus display the EC marking in accordance with use in a potentially explosive atmosphere in a specific ATEX zone.
We can also assist with the procedure of defining the ATEX zones on your production site.
Industrial applications :
- All types of processes involving powders (sugar, starches, polymers…), gases or solvents.
